NEW MUSIC VIDEO
When I was in High school, I had this mobile CD player that would stop playing if things would move around too much. So when I was listening to it, I had to walk very slowly and deliberately to keep it balanced. Certain songs were hard to keep still with but when Shape of my Heart was playing, it would be easy. I just wouldn’t move. It had me transfixed, almost in trance. I always loved Sting but then who doesn’t? So when I was writing the songs that became my album Ke Haber, this song came to visit me as if it was asking to be included. I brushed it off. What’s to you and Ladino? But the song was stubborn and then I found myself humming the words Mi Korazon… (in Ladino we spell Corazon with a K) and mash up song was born. Shape of my Heart now has verse in Ladino and I wish I still had the old CD player, that could have been an epic sentimental moment. LOL. For this release we created a beautiful music video for which I actually had to learn some basic poker rules. Check it out 🙂

About nani
With a ship’s-horn power voice & irresistible stage presence, Nani Vazana defends the endangered Ladino language. Her fascinating migration mix seeps into her songwriting, fusing the sounds of the marketplace with Flamenco drama. Nani learned Ladino from her Moroccan grandmother in hiding, as her father forbade them to speak Ladino at home. Library of Congress ‘Living Relic’ honours 2023, #11 International World Music Chart 2022, #13 World Music Chart Europe 2022.
